Welcome to the Texaco Young Musician of Wales 2009 competition

Musicians are invited to enter the eleventh Texaco Young Musician of Wales competition. Starting with preliminary and regional heats, the winner will be chosen at the final that takes place in St David’s Hall, Cardiff, on 7 March 2009. Established in 1989, the biennial competition has been a stepping stone for a number of young musicians.

The competition is open to musicians under the age of 20 on the date of the final and who were born in Wales or have lived or studied in Wales for a significant period.
The Texaco Young Musician of Wales is run by Chevron and Côr Meibion De Cymru, the South Wales Male Voice Choir, and held in association with the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra.
